Macau’s second responsible gaming program with MGM completed

The collaboration between iGaming operator MGM and City University of Macau completed its second responsible gaming educational program, which aimed to improve financial literacy and raise gaming responsibility awareness.

Tina Wong, Director of Responsible Gaming at MGM, and Pak Kin Pong, Director of the Integrated Services Center of Macau Gaming Industry Employees Home, were the leading members of the program. Over 30 students took part in the initiative, where the “training plus practice” instructional model was used.

Wong noted that such collaborations between the government, businesses, and educational institutions help create a sustainable future for Macau. Vice Rector of City University of Macau, Kuai Peng, also expressed satisfaction and said that the program has stimulated student creativity and strengthened students’ sense of social responsibility.

Students used different media communication formats to promote financial wellness and responsible gaming themes to wider audiences and attracted around 110,000 viewers.

The partnership also aims to prepare professionals with real experience to address the challenges in the gaming industry and make meaningful changes. The MGM-City University initiative shows Macau’s interest in embedding responsible gaming values in its citizens and creating long-term change towards better gaming practices.
