North Carolina sports betting hits $78.1M in October
North Carolina’s sports betting market picked up speed in October, reporting $78.1 million in gross revenue, a noticeable 17% lift from September’s $66.8 million.
The North Carolina State Lottery Commission also noted a strong surge in betting activity overall. Total handle reached $811.4 million for the month. up from $686.1 million in September , showing that both wagering volume and revenue moved in the right direction.
Betting revenue before promotions came in at $784.3 million for October, with promotional spend totaling $27.1 million. Sports betting also delivered more to the state. Tax revenue hit $14.1 million for the month, up from $12 million in September, which is a 17% increase.
Since the fiscal year began in July, North Carolina has collected $221.7 million in gross sports betting revenue and $39.9 million in taxes.
