Drake loses $8M to gambling, still chasing the big win

A Canadian music superstar, Drake, shared an Instagram story about the other side of gambling, highlighting his loss of $8 million in just one month.

While fans often see big wins, he admitted he hasn’t had a win for a while.

However, heavy losses don’t stop him from placing even larger bets.  Recently, he placed an $800,000 bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the NBA Finals. That includes a $600,000 straight bet and a $200,000 bet on a specific winning margin. If he wins both, he could make more than $900,000.

The “Drake Curse”

For a long time, Drake’s fans have been joking about the “Drake Curse”, saying that all those teams and athletes whom the star supports end up losing their game. This theory grew stronger after Drake wore Shohei Ohtani’s jersey before a betting scandal involving Ohtani’s translator hit the headlines.

In a world where celebrity gambling is glamorized, Drake decided to be honest with his fans with one clear message: betting cannot always make you satisfied with the results.
