Kindred Group stated that they are forming a Nomination Committee, and they have chosen Keith Meister, the founder of Corvex Management, to become a chairperson.

As of the end of last month, a 5 member committee appointed by Kindred’s largest shareholders will represent all shareholders and advise the members of the Board of Directors until the group’s general meeting of shareholders taking place next year.

Moreover, Cedric Boireau, Peter Lundkvist and  Anders Ström will work alongside Keith, with Evert Carlsson, the group’s chairperson of board.

The committee’s approval came after Corvex, which pushed Kindred’s board of directors to sell, became the largest shareholder of the Unibet operator in August this year, currently owning fifteen per cent of the shares.

Simultaneously, Corvex asked to participate in the appointment of its next board of directors, which was reflected in the fact that Meister took a leading role in the Nomination Committee.

Corvex announced it had purchased the first 10% stake in Kindred, and reached to the board to go after the sale.

Kindred then contacted other operators and private equity businesses, but was unable to find an interested buyer at the current price. Corvex then raised its stake in the group.

During this week the group announced that it will remain in the Norwegian market and pay fines made by Lotteritilsynet.
