Kindred Group receives mobile sports betting licence in Virginia
Kindred Group has acquired a mobile sports betting licence in the US state of Virginia for its Unibet Interactive subsidiary.
Through this new licence, the firm will have the ability to provide customers across Virginia with access to its Unibet sportsbook. The company also stated that its debut in Virginia is a crucial part of its expansion in the east coast, after it entered Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Indiana, with about 8 more deals to follow.
Kindred Group’s senior vice president for the US, Manuel Stan, commented saying:
“We are excited to add Virginia to the growing list of states that Unibet and Kindred Group call home as we continue our expansion in the US market. Our aim is to go live shortly and we expect that the success we have seen in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Indiana will of course follow in Virginia.”
The VP also indicated his thankfulness to the Virginia Lottery for providing the firm with the seventh permit in Virginia, as he further announced that he hoped to launch an office in the state, making it the third US office along with those located in New Jersey and New York.
The Virginia Lottery published its results this week which revealed that gamblers in Virginia had wagered $628.7 million between January and March. Virginia also acquired $1.5 million in taxes during that time.
