KSA applies a penalty payment on influencer LeftlanePapi

The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) fined YouTuber LeftlanePapi for repeatedly promoting and participating in illegal online gambling activities via his channel.
KSA took action after receiving a growing number of reports about influencers streaming or promoting unlicensed gambling platforms.
In April, KSA reviewed a YouTube video in which the influencer gambled on Skyhills.com, a site offering slot games, live casino content, and sports betting. The issue is that Skyhills.com doesn’t hold a Dutch license. The video also promoted the platform, accompanied by a link to Skyhills and an invitation to join a Discord channel for Dutch-language support.
According to KSA, this is a clear case of illegal promotion and participation in unlicensed gambling. Despite the warning, the video was not removed.
In one video, influencer LeftlanePapi even acknowledged the risk:
“I always just leave the stream live for 12 hours. Then I delete it immediately, man. You know how YouTube and KSA are with me, I don’t want a headache.”
As a result, KSA required the influencer to immediately stop all illegal promotional activities; otherwise, he will receive a fine of €25,000 per violation, up to a maximum of €75,000.
The penalty against the influencer is an example of the KSA’s newly introduced enforcement model. Under this model, when a violation by an influencer is detected, they receive a formal notice to remove the illegal content within 48 hours.
If they fail to comply, the KSA will reach out directly to the platform (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) to have the content removed, and the influencer will be fined.
