Catena Media reports Q2 2025 results show strong profit growth
Catena Media shared its Q2 results, highlighting the effects of its cost-cutting and business streamlining efforts despite revenue declines.
In the three months to June 30, 2025, Catena Media made €9.6 million ($11.24 million) from ongoing operations, which is 25% less than the same time last year. The North American segment brought in €8.7 million ($10.19 million), making up 90% of total revenue. However, this number was still less by 23% when compared to the previous year.
In Q2, the number of new depositing customers dropped by 36%, making it 20,000. Despite that, profit margins improved. Adjusted EBITDA doubled to €1.4 million ($1.64 million) compared to last year, with the EBITDA margin changing from -4% to 23%. Total EBITDA jumped almost five times to €2.2 million ($2.58 million).
Over the first half of 2025, revenue fell 33% to €19.4 million ($22.71 million), while North America’s revenue dropped 32% to €17.4 million ($20.37 million). The customer base also shrank, with new depositors down 44% year-on-year.

“Looking ahead, we aim to carry forward the earnings momentum seen in June, which was our most profitable month of the quarter. We will also continue to invest in long-term growth and to de-risk the business model by adapting our content and technology for generative AI search and by building CRM and loyalty capabilities to strengthen customer engagement as we build our core brands.”
Q2 was significant for the company, as during the period, Catena officially departed from the esports market and cut its workforce by 25%.
