Macau reports strong February with casino revenues of $2.46B

Macau, an autonomous region on the south coast of China where casino gaming is lawful, reported its gambling revenues for February, highlighting a rise of 8%, which equals $2.46 billion.
February gambling revenues for Macau are the highest since October 2024 and provide a much-needed boost for the region’s six gaming operators.
When compared to January 2025, the revenue saw an increase of 8%, and when compared to February 2024, it saw an increase of 17%. Despite a slow start in January, Macau’s gaming revenue for the first two months of 2025 is slightly ahead of last year. However, despite the strong February numbers, the city’s gaming revenue is still only 78% of what it was in February 2019, before the pandemic.
From Macau to Thailand
Major casino operators are considering expanding their operations from Macau right to Thailand, which is expected to approve five casino resorts later this year. Industry leaders at Sands, Wynn, MGM, and Melco have all announced potential expansion into this growing market.
