Kindred reports decline in responsible gambling impact

Kindred Group, recently acquired by France’s La Française des Jeux (FDJ), has released its latest Responsible Gambling Metrics report for the Swedish market, highlighting the decrease in the number of players who reduced gambling after being contacted.
Kindred is committed to minimizing gambling-related harm. During the period between July and December, the company contacted 0.90% of its players due to signs of risky gambling. Of those contacted, 61.6% reduced their gambling, and 74.2% decreased their deposits. While this is a positive outcome, it represents a slight decrease when compared to the first half of 2024, when 76.85% of players reduced their deposits. Additionally, 2.4% of contacted players chose to self-exclude for six months, while 2.2% opted for a longer break.
Kindred uses a mix of tailored messages, emails, and even phone calls to encourage responsible gambling. Its safer gambling team provides players with tools and guidance to help them stay in control.
Meanwhile, Kindred recently exited Poland after regulatory scrutiny over its Unibet brand. Authorities claimed its operations deprived the state treasury of significant revenue. This decision followed Kindred’s merger with La Française des Jeux (FDJ), forming a major European gaming company. FDJ is now finalizing its full acquisition of Kindred.
