Smarkets and Affinity Interactive to expand across Iowa
In the near future, Smarkets is releasing its new sport betting app with their partner Affinity Interactive in Iowa.
In 2019 SBK released Smarkets. Currently, it is operating in Colorado. By the end of the year it will be released in Indiana, after the Iowa launch.
During the same year Sports betting was legally allowed in Iowa. Though they did not have any professional sports teams, it still managed to be the leading market in the US. Brands that started operating in Iowa are the following:
- Bally’s
- BetMGM
- BetRivers
- Caesars Sportsbook
Iowa becoming a leading market is due to not so expensive licensing costs, with 45 thousand dollars to get a license and 10 thousand dollar fee per year.
Affinity Interactive marked their position not only in Iowa but also in Nevada and Missouri. The brand has 8 casinos, iGaming and sport betting platforms.
Trost, chief executive officer of the Smarkets expressed his excitement by saying that they are happy about this contract. Later he added:
“SBK has a big potential across AMerica so by adding our 3rd licensed state is an important step for our growth.”
M. Bet, Affinity Interactive’s chief executive officer, commented:
“We are honored to support SBK to expand in the US market and we cannot wait to welcome them in Iowa.”
