Flutter Entertainment stated on the first of July that it will appoint two new non-executive directors to its board, starting July 30.

Christine McCarthy will be named to the firm’s Audit Committee, while Robert (Dob) Bennett is scheduled to join the board as a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee.

Commenting on the appointments, Flutter Entertainment group chair John Bryant said:

“I am delighted to welcome Dob and Christine as non-executive directors of the Board which will be further strengthened by their appointments. Both have experience and career backgrounds that are highly relevant to our business. We look forward to Dob and Christine joining the Flutter Board and contributing to the company’s future.”

Since 2005, Bennett has served as managing director of Hilltop Investments, a private investment firm. In addition to that position, Bennett served as CEO of Liberty Media from 1997 to 2005 and as president and director of the media corporation Discovery Holding Company from 2005 to 2008. Bennett was employed by the Bank of New York and Tele-Communications, Inc. before taking on those positions. He is also currently on the boards of Warner Brothers Discovery and HP, Inc. He has served as a director for Demand Media, Liberty Media Corporation, Sprint Corporation, and Sprint Nextel Corporation in the past.

McCarthy served as the Walt Disney Company’s senior executive vice president and chief financial officer from 2015 to 2023. Most recently, from 2023 to 2024, she was a strategic adviser to Disney. McCarthy served in a number of capacities at the media giant before to being named CFO, including executive vice president of corporate real estate and alliances, senior vice president, and treasurer. She is now the chair of the Audit Committee and a director of The Procter & Gamble Company. McCarthy chairs the finance committee of FM Global, an insurance company, in addition to being a director of the company.
