KSA warns affiliates about marketing guidelines

KSA – gambling regulator of the Netherlands – informed over fifty affiliates that the online gambling laws of KOA should apply to their ads.

Affiliates were warned that while targeting customers in the Netherlands they should obey KOA’s ‘general guidelines’ about advertisements.

According to the guideline gambling should not be promoted to young people from the age of 18 to 24.

Those rules should also be considered in case of promoting incentives, bonuses and loyalty programs. This means that bonus ads should only be informative not encourage clients to “play-or-deposit”.

Players always need to be aware of all the terms and conditions. While advertising individual games the level of risk should be told too.

Also unclosed websites should never be promoted to the Dutch customers.

The regulator informed that affiliates are responsible for all the materials used for marketing.

The KSA indicated that the amount of fines will correspond to those imposed on illegal operators.

KSA stated the affiliate’s websites can be crucial for better marketing. That is why they are called to be responsible. In this way all the players can be safeguarded.
