Jdigital and FEJAR release new problem gambling therapy helpline

Jdigital has announced its new collaboration with FEJAR, the problem gambling therapist based in Spain. This new collaboration will mean that its members will be promoting a brand new problem gambling treatment and support helpline using the number 900 533 025.

The online gambling trade association, which is based in Spain as well, said that it has eight members who have already begun the ‘first phase trialling’ of the new support hotline which is managed by FEJAR. The members include Codere, Ebingo, Entain, Flutter, Sisal, Sportium, Wanabet and Winamax. FEJAR is Spain’s most well-known and longest-serving

FEJAR is recognised as Spain’s longest-serving therapeutic society specialising in the treatment of gambling addiction and its compulsive behaviours.

Andrea Vota, president of Jdigital, stated:

We are very proud of joining forces with Fejar in the fight against problematic gambling in Spain. Our members have a strong commitment to their users and society in general, as well as with our goal of promoting safe and responsible environments for online gambling activity as a responsible form of entertainment.

Vota noted that the members of Jdigital were certain that they wanted to promote the new helpline in order to improve and boost the protection and safety of players at risk. Jdigital also highlighted the fact that its relationship with FEJAR will always be completely honest and transparent, since they will be publishing reports on the progress of the helpline.

This new helpline and its promotion will also be complying with the safer gambling requirements that were imposed by the new duties of the ‘Royal Decree on Responsible Gambling’, since now, licenced operators have to provide ‘direct links to information services on safer gambling’.

The helpline will be operated and monitored by experts that underwent training with the therapeutic society, which will then transfer callers to the country’s regional health service to get them better and more case-specific treatment.

Maxi Gutiérrez, Fejar president, further noted:

The first phone number to be launched in collaboration with the Spanish online gambling association. We are pleased to have signed this agreement with Jdigital and some of the main online gambling companies in the country, because it highlights the importance of joining efforts on the fight against problematic gambling, a task that has been Fejar’s main goal since its foundation in 1991.
