Ridley was suspended by NFL for gambling on its matches

Calvin Ridley was suspended by the NFL, because of his betting act on its games throughout the season of 2021.

That happened during the 5-day vacation in autumn, when he was in Florida for mental health problems.

Ridley is an American football wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL.

The suspension is expected to last till the end of NFL 2022 season.

Calvin has posted in his Twitter that he had wagered around $1500. But media reports state that he had set up a bunch of stakes, involving the Falcons.

There was not any proof that inside data was utilized, or any game was corrupted. Ridley’s trainers and colleagues were not informed about his wagering.

Roger Goodell, who serves as the commissioner of the league, came up with a letter to the player to confirm the penalty, noting that maintaining the integrity of the game stays top priority for the fame of the league and the repute of the people connected to it.

“Wagering on league events is a severe breach of NFL policy which sees serious punishment. I advise you to announce an interview and confess your act”,

Goodell wrote in his letter.

Ridley has the opportunity to raise an objection to his suspension, as well as may ask for return from 15 February in the next year.
