Intertops releases updated sportsbook in time for 25th anniversary
Popular sportsbook Intertops celebrates its 25th anniversary since it took the world’s first online bet back in January of 1996. The company will be celebrating this milestone with a brand new and improved in-play sportsbook.
Back in January 17th of 1996, current SBC Hall of Fame inductee Jukka Honkavaara placed a wager worth USD $50 on Tottenham Hotspurto beat Hereford United in an FA Cup fourth round tie. Honkavaara apparently only obtained a profit of $2 when the Premier League side beat their lower-league opponents 5-1, with odds of 1.04.
Intertops has since evolved greatly as a betting company, and it launched ‘the first-ever mobile betting site, and two years later introduced live betting’.
