Nevada gambling revenue remained steady in February

The gambling industry in the state of Nevada earned over 1.24 billion dollars in the month of February.

The headline revenue figure represents a small decline of about 2% in the month in comparison to January’s statistics of 1.27 billion dollars earned. This indicates a steady period for the market, although in terms of year-over-year changes, Nevada’s gambling businesses experienced a near 12% growth in revenue from the prior year’s 1.1 billion dollar figure.

Breaking down the numbers, the state’s most lucrative gambling pastime was slots. Nevada’s slot machines earned a combined over 820 million dollars in February, which represented an increase of a bit less than 8%. Table games and sports wagering made up for the rest of the revenue at 373 million dollars and 41 million dollars respectively.

In terms of table games, blackjack, baccarat, and roulettes were three of the most profitable ones, while basketball and football wagering presented the most lucrative betting opportunities for operators. Moreover, the sports wagering pastime experienced a notable year-over-year increase in revenue in 2022’s February, growing from the prior year’s 31 million dollars by over 33%.

Lastly, around 56% of the state’s total gambling revenue at just over 710 million dollars came from the establishments on the Las Vegas Strip. Companies in the city and its surrounding towns in Clark County made up the vast majority of the revenue total at just under 1.1 billion dollars earned.
