William Hill reports 2022 financial performance
In its latest financial review, William Hill has shared its performance details for 2022.
Starting off with the most noteworthy figures, William Hill recorded a revenue of 1.23 billion pounds throughout 2022, which was down slightly from 2021’s revenue of 1.24 billion pounds. The company’s Adjusted EBITDA, on the other hand, saw a sizable increase in the period, going from the prior year’s 161 million pounds to 214 million pounds, which is an increase of more than 32%.
William Hill’s profits after taxes went up significantly as well, going from a near 59 million pound loss in 2021 to more than 168 million pounds of profit last year.
Breaking down by the company’s different sectors, its retail operations experienced a more than 50% increase in revenue in the year, going from 336 million pounds to 514 million pounds. The easing of various lockdown restrictions originally imposed at the start of the pandemic played a large role in this increase.
In contrast, William Hill’s online operations decreased by almost 20%, going down from 628 million pounds to 509 million pounds. The report stated that the main reason for this decrease is a combination of customers returning to land-based establishments and the implementation of the company’s latest player safety measures.
Lastly, the firm’s international operations generated a revenue of 212 million pounds, which is 23% lower than last year’s figure of 276 million pounds.
