AGA reports another year of record revenue for US gambling

The AGA’s latest industry report has highlighted yet another year of record revenue for the gambling sector of the United States.

The key figure mentioned by the AGA in its 2023 US gambling industry report was a total revenue of 66.5 billion dollars for the entire sector, which represented a 10% year-over-year increase from the industry’s 2022 performance of 60.5 billion dollars. This marked 2023 as the third consecutive record-breaking year for the industry, providing a further testament to the steady growth of the gambling sector of the United States.

Moreover, the year also set new records for the industry’s highest-ever quarterly and monthly revenue statistics, which occurred in the final quarter of 2023 and in December, when the sector’s companies generated total revenues of more than 17 billion dollars and 6 billion dollars respectively.

The AGA then reported a few of the industry’s other key metrics, including the growing prominence of online gambling offerings, which now generated just under a quarter of the sector’s total revenue in the year and experienced a year-on-year growth of 23%. However, land-based gambling establishments continued to maintain their top position, generating a total revenue of just under 50 billion dollars, although the retail sector experienced far lower growth rates at just 3.3%.
