AffPapa recently spoke with Adam Swanson, Head of Affiliates at Mate Affiliates, about the company’s market expansion, the team working behind the brand, and how the iGaming industry has developed over time.
Yeva: You recently added two new brands to your portfolio: Oh My Spins and GreatWin. How do you choose which brands to promote?
New brands represent for us not just an opportunity to improve our position but also a great way to build on existing partnerships and strengthen our ties with publishers.
Through the Mate Affiliates brands, we always try to find new better ways both for players and partners. That’s why we are offering high commissions and for players, great chances to win a Tesla in a giveaway on GreatWin, just to name an example.
Yeva: What are your top GEOs right now? Are you planning to enter new markets in the near future?
Mate Affiliates is always looking to capitalize on opportunities – we are thankful and proud of the results we’re showing on several key European GEOs; while I’m not at liberty to publicly disclose our next big thing, stay tuned for a big announcement!
Yeva: The casinos you represent occasionally have pretty good prizes and bonus offers. How do you believe this improves the user experience?
Players do respond well to our generous offers which position us on anybody’s list of desirable operators to work with. The extra prizes, gamification, and surprise bonuses are all part of our strategy to better understand our players and cater to their wishes.
Yeva: What steps do you take to ensure the affiliate feels at ease while working with Mate Affiliates? How do you assist them in bringing more traffic to your site?
Affiliates are the key to our success, so our commitment to our partners is to keep improving our level of service. We practice a proactive attitude, swift and effective decision-making, and last but not least, a professional and friendly manner in our interactions.
Yeva: Following the question above, what are the most rewarding and challenging parts of working with affiliates?
This business does require constant commitment which can be a bit much sometimes. On the other hand, it’s very rewarding to have a direct and quick impact on the challenges our partners are facing.
Yeva: What measures do you take to promote responsible gambling?
By design, our projects include features so that players can get the support they need. We promote safe, responsible gambling and leverage leading worldwide organizations that can consult and help players in need.
Yeva: Your company’s social media includes posts about the team that works behind the scenes… Please walk us through it. What is it like working at Mate Affiliates?
I am fortunate to be part of a team like Mate Affiliates. Everyone has the same goal, and everyone is pushing hard for this affiliate program to deliver for our partners and stakeholders.
Of course, there are good and bad days, but we do enjoy working as a team and building an increasingly solid unit while having fun.
Yeva: ZetCasino, a Mate Affiliates brand, recently won an AffPapa iGaming Award for “Casino Operator of the Year.” How important do you believe such events are for the team and recognizing their efforts?
We are incredibly proud that our hard work is being recognized. Such an occasion and specifically this award is a testament to the quality of the work our team put in over the past year. I want to use this opportunity to thank the team, our partners, and AffPapa for making this happen.
Yeva: How have you seen the market evolve over time? Is there anything else you’d like to see altered in the iGaming industry?
iGaming is incredibly dynamic and massive, but in the grand scheme of things, still in its infancy. I see a tremendous opportunity to engage with a much more diverse audience worldwide and expand on our classic formula of slots and sportsbooks. In terms of changes, I’m looking forward to Augmented Reality and its widespread adoption: this is very likely to shake things up in an exciting way.
Yeva: Slightly shifting the focus…What do you do in your spare time, Adam? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share with our readers?
Traditionally, I’m known to delight myself with peated expressions of Scotch while smoking a cigar 🙂 More recently though, I’m happy to say I don’t have the time for that: whenever I get some free time, I love spending it with my daughter; she’s at the age when everything she does is delightful.
