Nevada reports July 2023 gambling revenue

Gambling firms in Nevada generated a bit over 1.4 billion dollars in revenue in July.

The state’s gambling companies experienced a revenue increase of a bit less than 7% year-over-year, growing from the 1.32 billion dollars of revenue generated in July of 2022. This also led to an increase in the gambling taxes collected by the state, which went up by almost 5% from 77.4 million dollars to 81.1 million dollars. Gambling taxes in the following month of August presented an even larger increase of 5.9%, going from 90.4 million dollars to 95.7 million dollars.

Broken down by the state’s counties, Clark County, the home of Las Vegas, generated more than 1.2 billion dollars in revenue in the month, up by 7.5% from last year’s 1.12 billion dollars. The Las Vegas Strip continued to make up the majority of the county’s revenue at 834.9 million dollars and experienced a slightly higher increase than the county at 8%.

Washoe County, where Reno is located, was in second place, generating just over 100 million dollars in revenue, up by a bit more than 6% from last year’s 94.8 million dollars. Gambling establishments located in one of the county’s cities, Sparks, experienced the largest year-over-year increase of the period at over 20%, going from 14.3 million dollars in 2022 to 17.6 million dollars this July.
