William Hill stated that for some time they are stepping back from the Ontario market, however Mr Green is going to keep working in the region.

It was stated that this choice is part of their strategic plan and in due course the brand is not going to take any registrations up until they get the approval.

In their email, the brand asked affiliates not to send any traffic from Ontario, but to concentrate on clients from other regions of Canada.

To remind, the regulated iGaming market in Ontario launched earlier in 2022 following a whole process that lasted for 3 years. 888 Holdings, which is the parent company of William Hill, was released in Ontario during this spring (April 4).

“We are working on marking our place and improving our services to the clients in all important markets. For that matter Ontario is a long-term growing chance for us, and it is strategically a very crucial moment for 888. As we are getting ready to launch in the near future, we are very happy to start offering our services and products to the clients in the region.”

stated Itai Pazner, the chief executive officer of 888.

The news about the Ontario withdrawal comes after the group’s decision to cut investment for non-core brands.

Later Itai added that this allows them to leave their resources behind the biggest companies with the highest increasing capacity in every market, instead of  putting money in brands and markets.
