UKGC announces plans of implementing white paper changes
The UKGC has recently published its plans of implementing the proposals of the recently published white paper.
In a recent blog post, the UKGC’s Executive Director, Tim Miller, stated that the regulator has already started assembling specialized teams that will focus on the most important aspects of the proposals. Despite that, however, the commission expects the implementation of all of the suggestions from the white paper to take years.
The UKGC alone has been tasked with over 60 areas of improvement and implementation, several of which will be accomplished through changes to its License Conditions and Codes of Practice document, which contains the main set of rules operators need to abide by to offer their services in the United Kingdom.
The blog post also noted that as the commission will be focusing mainly on the implementation of the newly proposed changes, it will have fewer resources to incorporate any other proposals and initiatives.
Lastly, the Director added that despite having all of these proposals to implement over the coming few years, the commission will not be distracted from its main goal of ensuring the compliance of local operators with the United Kingdom’s gambling rules.
