EEG reappoints Damian Mathews as COO

Damian Mathews will be returning to the COO position at Esports Entertainment Group.

Currently holding a position on Esports Entertainment Group’s board of directors, Mathews has been with the firm for about three years since the Summer of 2020 and has previously been its CFO and COO till the end of last year. In his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s operations and will be helping its team enhance EEG’s catalog of offerings to drive long-term growth.

The CEO of EEG, Alex Igelman, stated:

“We are thrilled to have Damian reappointed to lead our company’s operations as EEG’s COO. He held this role for about seven months till the end of last year, after which he remained with our team, serving as a member of our board. With his prior experience as COO, where he played an invaluable role in our company’s growth, Damian is an excellent candidate for his new position. We are looking forward to working with him for the foreseeable future.”

Damian Mathews remarked:

“I am thrilled to be returning to an executive position at EEG. Since December, when I resigned from the firm’s COO, Alex and our team have been able to accelerate our growth quite significantly, and I am certain that we will be able to continue on this excellent momentum for the months to come.”

The new appointee has over two and a half decades of experience in senior positions similar to his latest one, with some of his most recent roles including being the COO of a real estate investment firm based in New Zealand. This, combined with his previous expertise as EEG’s Chief Financial and Operating Officer, makes him an excellent candidate to lead the iGaming company’s operations.
