Svenska Spel to appoint Anna Johnson as CEO

Anna Johnson has recently been named as the upcoming CEO of Svenska Spel.

The new appointee has more than twenty years of working experience and is at present the Chief Executive of the Swedish subsidiary of Grant Thornton, which is a position she has held for more than half a decade.

Svenska Spel’s Chair, Erik Strand, commented:

“Anna has an extensive and successful track record of leading sizable teams that have been able to drive rapid and sustainable growth. Her dedication and skills will be invaluable to our company. Our board is eager to work closely with Anna to continue providing our player base with engaging and responsible gambling offerings.”

The new appointee remarked:

“Being able to lead Svenska Spel as its CEO is quite an exciting opportunity. The firm is one of the most recognizable gambling brands in Sweden and provides a variety of highly sought-after experiences. The company is positioned excellently to continue providing its players with engaging offerings while also contributing to local sports.”

This announcement follows shortly after Svenska Spel’s current CEO, Patrik Hofbauer, announced that he will be leaving the firm to pursue different career opportunities. He will be officially leaving his position at the beginning of February, following which Svenska Spel’s Chair will take on the responsibilities of the CEO on an interim basis before Johnson’s final appointment sometime before June of next year.
