Canadian Gaming Summit to highlight SIGA’s business model

As part of the 2023 Canadian Gaming Summit, representatives of SIGA will be talking about the authority’s operating model.

Being held as part of the conference’s Leadership and Growth track, the exclusive panel will feature two higher-level representatives from the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, Patricia Cook and Desiree Gervais. Throughout the panel, the speakers will talk about how the organization has been able to grow its prominence in almost three decades on the market.

The discussion will cover how SIGA successfully perfected Saskatchewan’s gambling regulatory framework to establish the province’s first casino and how its innovative operating model has been able to help the organization grow at pace, along with how other Canadian first nations can implement similar models to expand in their local communities.

Having been founded in 1995, the non-profit has been able to construct a network of retail gambling establishments with seven properties spread throughout the province while operating with a target of reinvesting all of its net income toward the betterment of the local community.

With more than two decades of experience in HR, Desiree Gervais, SIGA’s VP of HR, is an esteemed professional who has a wealth of knowledge in her field from working in various Canadian industries. SIGA’s VP of Corporate Affairs, Patricia Cook, has had a similarly extensive career and has worked with the non-profit for nearly two decades, throughout which she has been responsible for overseeing the company’s media and public relations, communications, and social responsibility efforts.

Be sure to secure your place at the conference, as it’s only a few weeks away at the time of writing, on SBC’s official website, and check out our iGaming Events page to explore other upcoming industry conferences.
